Heritage Fashion Show 2025: A Remarkable Celebration of Talent and Culture

Heritage Fashion Show

The Heritage Fashion Show 2025 at Tatham Art Gallery, Pietermaritzburg, celebrates children, culture, and creativity. This event empowers young models, designers, and artists while inviting sponsors and partners to be part of a growing annual tradition.

Heritage Fashion Show Celebrating Talent, Heritage, and Community

The Heritage Fashion Show 2025 marks a new chapter in South Africa’s fashion and arts calendar. Taking place on Saturday, 27 September 2025 at the Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg, this exciting event is hosted by Brenda Nomusa Molefe, owner of Star Model and Talent Management.

For Molefe, the show is more than just a runway — it’s a dream come true. Having worked with international fashion brands across Africa, she has long envisioned creating an inclusive platform where children and young people can showcase their talents in modelling, fashion, music, and the arts. Now, in the heart of heritage month, her vision comes alive.

Inspiration Behind the Heritage Fashion Show

Although Star Model and Talent Management has previously hosted successful fashion shows in Gauteng, this will be the agency’s first children’s fashion show and the first event in KwaZulu-Natal.

Molefe draws inspiration from her time as a guest speaker and contributor to International Heritage Children’s Fashion Shows across Africa. Her participation in workshops, sponsorships, and model development has given her the experience to bring this initiative home to KZN.

She shares an inspired thought rooted in the IsiZulu saying:

“It is important to nurture talent and instil lessons while children are young and impressionable. The Heritage Fashion Show is about creating opportunities, building confidence, and offering the next generation a platform to grow in the arts and fashion industries.”

The Children Who Benefit

Unlike traditional modelling agencies that come with hefty fees, the Heritage Fashion Show is open to all children who love modelling or dream of exploring the arts. Participants include:

  • Beginners and experienced child models.
  • Plus-size models and those often excluded from mainstream platforms.
  • Children living with disabilities, offered equal opportunity to shine.

This inclusive approach ensures the event not only celebrates fashion but also fosters confidence, diversity, and empowerment.

With a rich history dating back to 1903, the gallery provides a cultural setting that perfectly complements the vision of the Heritage Fashion Show — blending art, heritage, and creativity under one roof.

Sponsorship and Partnership Opportunities

To make the Heritage Fashion Show a long-term success, the organizers are inviting sponsors and partners to get involved. Current needs include:

  • Financial sponsorships – Covering accommodation and meals for out-of-town models and designers.
  • Media partnerships – Photographers, videographers, and press coverage.
  • Kid-friendly suppliers – Props, decorations, and gifts for participants.
  • Businesses – Gift vouchers or prizes for children and families.
